Judgment

Preview: A lesson on who has the right to judge others.


Scripture Reading: John 7:17-25.

1. When brethren cannot agree should they go before the court or the Church? I Corinthians 6:1.
Note: For the saints, the Church is the highest court on earth. The Church is to judge between the brethren.
2. By what standard should the Church judge? John 7:24.
3. Who will have part in judging the world? I Corinthians 6:2.
4. Who will judge the fall of the angels? I Corinthians 6:3.
5. Is it a shame for the saints to say we have no right to judge? I Corinthians 6:5
6. Did the Corinthian Church take the brethren to the civil law to be judged by unbelievers? I Corinthians 6:7-8.
7. Can a carnal mind receive and judge spiritual things? I Corinthians 2:14.
8. Can spiritual men judge spiritual things? I Corinthians 2:15.

Note: It is important for us to know them. Their own actions and moral tendencies of their doctrine will decide whose side they are on. Bad actions grow out of a bad nature.
13. What must a man do before he can correct his brother? Matthew 7:3-4.
14. What should hypocrites do first to themselves? Matthew 7:5.
Note: There is another judgment we are warned against, the judgment to condemn and to take life. We have civil courts that take care of such judgments. The spiritual things belong to the children of God. It is a shame when a Church has no one that is able to judge between his brethren. See I Corinthians 7:5. Those that contend strongly against judging anyone are usually judging the brethren. When they love the brethren as themselves they will not look for faults, but will magnify their good deeds.
