Releasing Sin and Finding Jesus

Preview: Our sins keep us separated from God, but He has a plan in place to lead us back to Him and release us from the guilt and curse of our sinful lives.

 

Scripture Reading: Romans 3:9-18.

 

Memory Verse: Romans 3:18.

 

1. Explain God’s law in relation to sin. Romans 3:19-20.

2. How many people have sinned? Romans 3:23.

3. What is the reward of sinning? Romans 6:23.

Note: Without God we are guilt-ridden and unable to find peace. 

4. How does our iniquity and sin effect our relationship with God? Isaiah 59:2.

Note: Sin separates us from God, which is our source of life. God’s plan of salvation leads us back to Him and to life.

5. What is God’s plan to save His people? John 3:16-21.

6. Why was it necessary for Jesus to come to earth and die for our sins? Hebrews 2:9, 14.

7. In what ways did Christ’s life and death take the place of our sinful lives? Discuss. Isaiah 53:4-6, 12.

8. Describe how Paul wrote of Jesus bearing our sins. 2 Corinthians 5:21.

Note: Jesus never sinned. He lived the life we should have lived, and died the death that we deserved. He assumed all the guilt for our sins and did it willingly. This is why He is our loving savior.

10. How are we saved? Ephesians 2:8-9.

11. What must we all ask? Acts 16:30.

12. What is the answer? Acts 16:31.

13. What is God’s promise to us when we receive Jesus as our Savior? 1 John 5:11-19.

 

Conclusion: Accepting Jesus and His sacrifices for us allows us to receive His gift of eternal life. We can lay down the guilt for our sinful lives, and live peacefully under the laws of God.
