1. Can we see from the foregoing Scriptures how God uses sickness and afflictions to encourage us to look to Christ for our correction and healing?
Note: It is interesting to note that the medical profession symbol (emblem) today is two snakes on a pole.
2. What did Paul say about self examination? II Corinthians 13:5.
3. Did Paul instruct us to examine ourselves? I Corinthians 11:23-28.
4. Why is this vital to our health? I Corinthians 11:29-30.

6. Why must we ask God to search and reveal what is in our hearts? Psalm 139:23-24, Proverbs 21:2 & Jeremiah 17:9-10.
Note: The natural man is full of sin and does not know it until God’s Holy Spirit shines its light into the soul.
7. How much of our heart must be involved in this search? Jeremiah 29:13.
8. Consider the different aspects of our lives that must be dealt with before God can heal and bless us:
    A. Our thoughts: II Corinthians 10:5.
    B. Our words: Matthew 12:36-37.
    C. Our actions: II Corinthians 5:10.
    D. Our motives: Jeremiah 17:10.
    E. Our regard for our health: I Corinthians 3:16-17.
Note: When we call for the elders to pray we should expect God to search our heart, reveal our faults, and forgive our sins in order that we be healed of our sickness.
9. What is promised to those who meet this requirement? Isaiah 40:30-31.
